Energy platforms consist in UfM Regional Electricity Market Platform, UfM Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Platform and UfM Gas Platform, that aim to foster cooperation and open dialog between Mediterranean countries on these topics. Under the co-presidency of European Union and Jordan, around 20 countries and structures were attending this event. It was the occasion to present work progress and on-going studies and partnerships within the region. At this occasion, participants have reiterated their interest in regional collaboration, avoiding duplicates and overlaps. MEDENER Chaiman, Dario Chello, has also insisted on the importance of local markets and expertise on EE and ER and has underlined the importance of adapting policy step by steps to the different context through pilot projects, already on-going in the countries.
