{"id":1368,"date":"2016-06-14T10:21:59","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T09:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.medener.org\/en\/?p=1368"},"modified":"2016-06-14T10:22:54","modified_gmt":"2016-06-14T09:22:54","slug":"conference-on-territorial-development-and-touristic-transition-in-the-mediterranean-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.medener.org\/en\/conference-on-territorial-development-and-touristic-transition-in-the-mediterranean-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference on territorial development and touristic transition in the Mediterranean region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mediterranean basin has to face its changing environment under the pressure of the <strong>climate change<\/strong>, the <strong>demographic evolution<\/strong> <strong>and the exhaustion of natural resources<\/strong>, <strong>population rise<\/strong> on both side and <strong>the influence of an inappropriate mass tourism<\/strong> while the demand of ethical destinations and a sustainable development of the territories is growing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MEDENER is partner of this <strong>labialised COP 22<\/strong> event, and supports the DEFIMED\u2019s actions (Association of Mediterranean tourism actor) to promote tools to guide the hotel sector through an energy and touristic transition. DEFISMED presented his Mediterranean actors and institutional network and expressed its will to take action in the tourism field. Concretes actions now have to be built to help and encourage the regions to take action for the climate.<\/p>\n<p>During the conference different tools have been explained, <strong>Ecolabeltoolbox and the European Ecolabel<\/strong>,\u00a0 and thus highlighted the possible synergies between different stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The main goals of the conference was to share and give answers on how to <strong>involve professionals<\/strong> and those who worked in \u201cmass tourism\u201d in the energy transition, how to <strong>persuade tourists to consume in a more sustainable way<\/strong> and also which <strong>financing on the carbon approach. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Two Side Event are planned on the sustainable tourism theme at the <strong>COP 22 in November<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mediterranean basin has to face its changing environment under the pressure of the climate change, the demographic evolution and the exhaustion of natural resources, population rise on both side and the influence of an inappropriate mass tourism while the demand of ethical destinations and a sustainable development of the territories is growing. &nbsp;
