The 6th MEDENER International Conference on Energy Transition in the Euro – Mediterranean Region has taken place as part of the activities of the meetMED project on 4 October 2018 in Amman, Jordan.
Hosted by the Jordanian National Energy Research Center/Royal Scientific society (NERC/RSS), the event has gathered many energy experts from all over the Mediterranean basin, who shared best practices and knowledge with the aim of solving the dilemma of financing EE and RE policies and investments when prices are low and effective markets have not been activated yet.
As the main outcome of the event, Conference conclusions prepared by MEDENER Presidency, NERC, and RCREEE representatives, have been presented during its closing session. The Conclusions summarise the key messages delivered by speakers and experts actively participating in the debate, while proposing two possible ways ahead in order to trigger an effective transition to clean energy before the effects of climate change become irreversible.
