Workshop discussion of the assumptions for the development of an energy transition scenario in 2040
9 March 2015

MEDENER with the support of OME held March 9 in Paris, a workshop with experts from national agencies to validate assumptions to develop the energy transition scenario by 2040 for the Mediterranean.

As part of a partnership with the Mediterranean Office of Energy (OME), MEDENER hoped that the exercise of Mediterranean Energy Perspectives Prospective be supplemented by an energy transition scenario for the Mediterranean region by 2040, which will build on strong assumptions in terms of energy efficiency and demand management and the development of renewable energy. This workshop which gathered nearly 15 Mediterranean rim including experts helped validate the technical assumptions, economic and potential energy savings particularly for the construction industry and transport. These assumptions were thus added to the econometric model to develop an energy transition scenario.
