Portugal now has an energy watchdog, the Energy Observatory, managed by the ADENE. Created in February, 2018, within the framework of Portugal Energia, an initiative of the Portuguese Ministry of the Economy, the online platform provides data on energy production and consumption by area of activity. Aimed at providing total transparency in the sector, the Observatory will also act as a relay for studies carried out by universities and research centres.
